One Step Closer.........

Well I will get straight to the point!!
We met with Tom who told us in his rather eccentric manner that.....
It is WORKING!!!!!!!
Two of Steves tumours have dramatically reduced in size! and the others have remained the same and their are NO new ones!!
Tom went on to explain that this was a fantastic result and that Steve chances of a total cure have risen from 7% to 50%
So its back to doing it all again!
Steve will start the cycle again on the 19th October with the same pattern as last time.
1 week in, 1 week and at home and then 1 week back in again!
Steve and I left the appointment both in state of shock and happiness but your emotions are funny things! Steve has been rather subdued and surprised by our families and friends reactions. Whilst he is happy it has worked it does still mean that their is a 50% chance this wont be cured and all said and done he does still have the cancer.
So not quite popping the champagne yet but at least it means we can go away for the weekend knowing Steve still has a chance and a better chance of beating this thing!!!
It felt almost unreal calling my mum and telling her, especially as the last 3 months have been calls with bad news or worrying updates of Steves treatment. Steves parents as you would imagine over the moon or in the words of Muriel she is cockahoot!! and told us she was off to dance around the lounge!! Wonder if Bryan will be joining in? Sure he will be!
I feel so happy that moments of tears keep coming I know we have a long way to go but we are on the way to the perfect ending to this awful journey, that Steve so deserves.
It is still going to be a fight and the treatment will be even worse than before but Im so glad I bought them those chocolates when we left last time!!!
Well off to celebrate Daryls birthday tonight and then packing for our trip to Cornwall, seems at long last we have reason to be positive.

Keep up the battle you two, you'll be missed at the dinner on Sat but no doubt you'll have a great time celebrating Sally's birthday in Cornwall. I'll collect double fines next year!

  12. Steve,

I've been following the blogg and keeping people updated and it was a beautiful thing to read the latest update and see how you've reacted to the treatment.

I never had the chance to meet Sally however its fantastic to see what amazing support you have. 17 years ago my closest friend went through a very similar experience, so i appreciate how important it is to have people close to you through this.

I'll continue to send you my best.
