Ve Va l'espagne

Well after multiple calls we (that being the royal we!) managed to get Steve a scan yesterday for his lungs to see whether the blood clot was still there and if it was we would go on holiday to France and if it wasn’t then we would fly to Spain.....

I am pleased to say we finally had some good news and the blood clot has naturally disappeared and therefore the risk to Steve flying is a lot less. That said no doctor would actually say to Steve he is safe to fly but given that the blood clot is not there and he is on his daily injections (which for the record I am now becoming quite the injecting expert!) to thin his blood the chances of him getting another one is greatly reduced. He will need to walk around on the plane and drink lots of water.

Last night was strange as on the one hand Steve was pleased the clot had gone on the other hand it meant that the pain Steve gets at night is caused by his cancer, which is scary thought. Steve has pain at night and needs to get up and take more pain killers (which he hates doing! "Pain killers are for wimps!") This pain is the first real signs of the cancer that Steve has felt and it can be a frightening feeling. Steve is usual upbeat self about things and at 5:30am this morning when he couldn’t sleep anymore he was up and taking Dudley for a walk!

The flights are now booked and we leave on Tuesday morning with 5 children! Steves sisters 3 children and Meg and Vix. All of whom are very excited! We will be away 10 days, staying with Steves mum and dad. Who now find themselves having to rush around for the arrival of 7 people on Tuesday morning. Truly they are happy that we are coming as it means they will get to see all of their Grandchildren together. Not sure the neighbors will be thinking the same by the end of the 10 days!
